Wedding open day for Cheshire couples

Couples planning their civil wedding or partnership have been invited to an event in Cheshire to get help and advice, according to local media reports.

Wrenbury Hall in Nantwich will be the venue for Cheshire County Council's registration service open day being held on November 9th.

The event is for anyone getting married or thinking of having a civil partnership at any of the approved venues around Cheshire.

Couples will be able to meet registrars and discuss the ins and outs of the ceremonies.

They will also be able to learn about getting married in more unique venues including a zoo, a castle and stately homes, the Cheshire Chronicle reports.

Community and communications executive member Nora Dolphin told the newspaper: "Despite falling marriage rates nationally, Cheshire has remained consistently popular as a wedding destination.

"The county is also becoming increasingly popular among brides and grooms from elsewhere in the UK – last year more than half of couples who married in approved premises in Cheshire were from outside the county."
